About this tool

What is a Schema Markup Generator?

Schema markup (structured data) is code you add to your HTML that tells search engines exactly what your content means — not just what it says. When Google can parse structured data, it may display Rich Results: FAQ dropdowns, star ratings, local business knowledge panels, product prices, and more. Rich Results dramatically improve SERP click-through rates — FAQ markup alone can double the visual space your result takes up in search.

JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) is Google's recommended format for structured data. It sits in a <script> tag in your page <head> and doesn't affect the visible HTML. The three most impactful schema types for Indian businesses are: FAQPage (for any page with Q&A content — shows accordion dropdowns in SERP), LocalBusiness (for map packs and knowledge panel), and Product (for e-commerce — shows price, availability, and ratings in SERP).

This generator outputs valid JSON-LD for all three types. Copy the <script> tag, paste it into your page <head>, and validate using Google's Rich Results Test before deploying. Note that having valid schema doesn't guarantee rich results — Google decides whether to display them based on content quality and search context.

Best practices

Tips to get the most out of it

01

Add FAQ schema to every page with Q&A content — blog posts, service pages, tool pages. It's one of the highest-impact, lowest-effort SEO wins. Pages with FAQ schema see 20–30% CTR increases in studies.

02

For LocalBusiness, the schema type must match your actual business category. Use "LegalService", "AccountingService", "FinancialService" for professional services — not generic "LocalBusiness". See schema.org/LocalBusiness for the full type hierarchy.

03

Product schema ratings must be from genuine reviews — fabricating reviewCount or ratingValue is against Google guidelines and can lead to rich result penalties.

04

You can add multiple schema types on the same page (e.g. Product + FAQPage). Place each in a separate <script type="application/ld+json"> block rather than combining them.

05

Update schema when prices, hours, or availability change. Stale schema showing "InStock" for an out-of-stock product damages trust and may trigger Google manual actions.

Examples

Real-world scenarios

How Indians actually use this generator — concrete inputs, concrete outcomes.

Case 1

Service page FAQ

"What is GST registration?" / "GST registration is..." — adding FAQ schema to a service page can expand SERP snippet from 1 line to 5, increasing organic CTR by 40%+.

Case 2

Restaurant LocalBusiness

Type: "Restaurant". Add address, phone, opening hours. Google uses this for Knowledge Panel and Maps integration. Dramatically improves local pack visibility.

Case 3

E-commerce product

Product schema with 4.7 rating, 320 reviews, ₹1,999 price. Star ratings appear directly in Google SERP — increases CTR by 15–35% vs results without stars.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have a question? Our team replies within a business day.

Not directly. Schema is not a ranking factor. It improves how your result looks in SERP (rich results), which improves CTR. Higher CTR from the same ranking position means more traffic without ranking change — and higher traffic signals can indirectly support rankings.

Three formats for structured data. JSON-LD: in a <script> tag, separate from content — easiest to implement and Google's recommended format. Microdata: embedded in HTML tags as attributes — harder to maintain. RDFa: similar to Microdata. Use JSON-LD.

Yes. FAQ schema describes content that is visible on the page — the questions and answers must actually appear in the page content, not be hidden or schema-only. Google penalises schema that doesn't match visible content.

Common types: "LegalService", "AccountingService", "FinancialService", "Restaurant", "Hospital", "MedicalClinic", "RealEstateAgent", "HomeAndConstructionBusiness", "AutoDealer". Full list at schema.org. Choose the most specific type that accurately describes your business.

Google must recrawl and reindex your page first — typically 1–4 weeks for indexed pages. After indexing, Google decides whether to show rich results (it does not guarantee them). Check coverage in Google Search Console under "Enhancements" after 4 weeks.
